Conie Borchardt

Conie Borchardt (she/they) is the new Executive Director of Music that Makes Community, where they are delighted to promote the practice of communal song-sharing that inspires spiritual connection and brave leadership that sparks transformation. In addition to 30+ years of church music experience in Lutheran, Episcopal, and UCC congregations, Conie listens and moves at the confluences of the past, present, and not yet; Asian-European ancestry; and the Misi-ziibi and Mni’sota Rivers with training in music, Dances of Universal Peace, and spiritual direction as a freelance Public Heart Artist and Cultural Catalyst. When not traveling for MMC, they are half of the mixed Asian songleading duo Good Trouble with Liz Digitale Anderson and exploring the role of storytelling and community in healing through transdisciplinary projects include Freeing Refrains and Biracial and Rural.
