*NEW* Interim Organist/Choirmaster for The Church of St. Luke and St. Matthew; Clinton Hill, Brooklyn

The congregation is seeking an Interim Organist/Choirmaster to begin September 1, 2018. The community is diverse, living in a large worship space with a 60-rank, four manual Moller organ with a recently updated combination action. There is a good grand piano in the worship space and a volunteer choir of about 10 singers. Presently, the position is part-time, but the position will grow and the person chosen as interim will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position. From September through June, responsibilities include playing hymns and service music at the 8:00 am service, directing a choir rehearsal at 9:15 am, leading hymns, service music and choral music at 11:00 am, with a prelude/postlude at both services. In July and August there is one service without choir at 10:00 am.

To be considered, email a cover letter and resume to The Rev. Julie Hoplamazian. Applications are currently being accepted.

*NEW* Music Leader/Accompanist at All Saints’ Episcopal Church; Frederick, MD

All Saints’ is an historic church with a growing intergenerational community. We are seeking a musician and choir leader (minimum of 1-2 years’ experience) for our 9 am Sunday ‘Great Hall’ worship service. The position includes planning music for worship and growing an existing choir, developing ways to involve children and young families to creatively engage the entire community in our music ministry. This worship service requires a creative heart, a clear understanding of the framework of Episcopal liturgy, and the use of a variety of music resources to engage all ages and all musical abilities. The position is an opportunity for a music leader who looks for ways to invite the community into the experience of making liturgical music as full participants instead of passive consumers and observers of music performance; and, therefore, requires a person with a sense of humor, a light touch, a steady hand, and a willingness to innovate.
