Join host Rev. Beth Kelly and facilitator Paul Vasile as we explore how to lift sacred texts and prayers off the printed page at a half-day workshop at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Fullerton, CA on August 8, 2015.
Participants will experience how music and improvisation can give new life to psalms, scripture readings, prayers of the people and celebrating the Eucharist. The workshop will invite collaboration, play and creativity, with the hope that participants will bring new ideas and perspective back to their respective faith communities.
We will begin and end the afternoon with two short worship services that will allow attendees to experience how the practice of paperless song leading, combined with traditional liturgical patterns, can invite deeper listening and awareness. All are welcome to attend, especially clergy, musicians, lectors and congregants who are passionate about vibrant and embodied worship.
This workshop is free with a suggested donation of $20 per person. Attendees will also receive a 10% discount on tuition for our annual Music that Makes Community conference at The Bishop's Ranch in Sonoma County, California.
