Maren Haynes Marchesini

Maren Haynes Marchesini

I am an ethnomusicologist, cellist, singer, director, composer, and music minister. I am in the process of completing my PhD in Ethnomusicology at the University of Washington where I am studying the intersections between popular and sacred music at a Seattle megachurch. Most recently, I worked at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California, where I implemented arts programming and worship music.

I recently moved to Montana where I teach courses in music at Helena College and play with the local symphony. For the 2016-17 year, I am serving as a guest teaching artist at First Presbyterian Church in Bozeman, Montana, where I am exploring new avenues for community building through music.
