Music that Makes Community will be facilitating a communal song sharing training and retreat in partnership with The Episcopal Diocese of Spokane September 11-13, 2026 at Camp Cross in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. This partnership is made possible by The Building Bridges; Healing Divides grant program. 

A fitting compliment to this year’s diocesan theme, “Sing to the Lord A New Song,” this retreat will be held September 11-13, 2026 at Camp Cross to make use of our fabulous new cabins and retreat house, and to lean into the spirit of communal song that runs deeply in the history and culture of Camp Cross.

This is a retreat for members of The Episcopal Diocese of Spokane. Congregations sending teams/groups of members who will be committed to engaging in communal singing and reporting back about their experience are invited to attend for free. Our goal is to not only experience and learn at the retreat, but to engage in communal song back in our congregations and communities.
