Building on the success of our Holy Week Retreat last February, Music That Makes Community is excited to host an Advent Music Test Kitchen at St. Lydia's on Saturday, October 22 from 10 am to 1:30 pm.
We'll reflect together on this brooding and bluesy season of the liturgical year, explore Advent scripture and prayers through music, and we'll workshop your ideas - liturgy in process, unsung or new tunes, and other worship expressions that you want to try within a supportive, gracious community of learners.
And, it wouldn't be a test kitchen if we didn't enjoy great coffee and pastries from a local Gowanus bakery.
St. Lydia's is located at 304 Bond Street in Brooklyn, NY. The storefront space is an eight minute walk from the Union Street stop on the R and a six minute walk from the Carroll Street stop on the F/G. The space is fully wheelchair accessible, with an accessible bathroom and a ramp at the front door.
Suggested donation: $10 (RSVP, then donate here or pay upon arrival)
