Chanda Rule

Chanda Rule

With feet rooted in gospel, a heart filled with soul, and a voice touched with jazz, singer and songwriter Chanda Rule has been weaving stories through song, humming melodies, and bending words since her childhood. Her "bewitching voice," as described by the Baltic Times, has a flexibility and range that has graced a variety of musical projects: from "Sapphire Dreams" recorded with the legendary pianist Kirk Lightsey, to appearing as a featured vocalist on ARTE Concert, Ö1 Jazznacht, and ORF's Dancing Stars. A published writer, interfaith minister and graduate of Union Theological Seminary, Chanda also integrates music with sacred text, liturgy, and story-telling to open new vistas for congregations and communities. As a storyteller - sometimes with words, sometimes with ritual, and other times with song and collaborative arts, Chanda listens to the heartbeat of a community and helps it to sing its own song. "I believe songs are God's healing balm for the human spirit and I love to use music to celebrate and honor unconditional love and the downright sacred wholeness of every being."
