Jennifer Sanborn

Jennifer Sanborn serves as National Coordinator for Learning Initiatives in the Center for Continuous Learning with the American Baptist Home Mission Societies, leading programs designed to support clergy, congregations, and communities with practical mission education. At present, she has a special interest in how we connect our faith and our finances to together create a world where everyone has enough.

Prior to joining ABHMS in August 2019, Jennifer worked in both higher education and religious leadership. Over 25 years she was privileged to serve the following institutions: Syracuse University (residence life), Wheaton College MA (residence life, service-learning, and multicultural programs), the University of Hartford (women’s leadership), Mount Holyoke College (president’s office and religious and spiritual life), and Hartford Seminary (admissions). Jennifer has graduate degrees from Syracuse University and Hartford Seminary, as well as her undergraduate degree from Eastern University (PA). In religious life she pastored Enfield American Baptist Church (Enfield, CT) and founded a Young Adult Service Community for the UCC at First Church of Christ (Simsbury, CT). Her work with the Home Mission Societies is the perfect intersection of these professional worlds--educational in nature and a ministry at heart.

In all her professional and personal commitments she seeks to encourage people and connect them to inner and outer resources. Jennifer’s primary call is to live in love with her family (Connecticut), sing praise and lament to God, and discover the sacred in everyday life.
